Gravity

“Gravity” is a theater arts dance work collaboratively created and performed by Curt Holman, Serena Keck, Logan Barnes, and Natalie Schultz. The piece explores the dancers' relationship to gravity through theatrical lifts, dynamic partnering, and the interplay of momentum and shared weight. In addition to investigating weight transfer and counterbalance, “Gravity” examines how points of initiation and follow-through within both the lifts and the partnering sequences, aiming to create seamless transitions and an overall fluid aesthetic. This attention to continuity enhances the visual and kinesthetic cohesion of the work. “Gravity” was performed in competition and placed 3rd in the United States, demonstrating the effectiveness of its nuanced approach to partnered movement and technical execution.

"The joy of dance is fully realized by the dancer and vividly imagined by the audience."
