Safety in Danger Installation

“Safety in Danger” was a performance piece inspired by the classic photo “Lunch a atop a Skyscraper” that explored the tension between comfort and risk, inviting the audience into a space where danger and safety coexist. The piece was built around the concept of climbing and hanging from handrails, symbolizing the precarious balance between physical risk and perceived safety. Through this work, I examined how the audience's awareness of their own safety could influence their perception of the performers' vulnerability. The choreography was designed to evoke both a sense of danger and the safety of the environment, encouraging a reflection on how we engage with risk and comfort in our daily lives. Ultimately, the piece was an exploration of human resilience and trust, showing that even in potentially dangerous situations, there can be a sense of control and security when one is aware of the boundaries and choices at hand.
